Eve's Red Maple Bonsai Seed Kit

This is a tiny-tree project, not a tiny tree. Eve’s Red Maple Bonsai Seed Kit starts with seeds, so when you want to grow something yourself rather than fill an empty shelf with an instant occupant, it fits. It suits the friend who enjoys the tending as much as the result.

Inside are red maple seeds, a ceramic container, potting mix, pebbles, and an instruction guide. There are enough seeds to germinate several starter plants, which makes this more than a one-seed wager on your green thumb. The ceramic container’s size, shape, and color can vary, so don’t get too attached to a particular pot.

Open the box, get planting, and your plant-loving brain has another small obsession, which makes this a gift that comes with something to do. Just make sure the recipient wants a growing project. A packet of possibilities is a different present from a finished bonsai.
