Adulting Merit Badge Patches

Two inches square is a modest amount of space for an adult achievement, but the merit badge format lends it some ceremony. These embroidered patches celebrate everyday adulting, with styles focused on funny achievements, environmental efforts, and health. They suit someone who takes their small victories seriously enough to put one on a jacket, but not seriously enough to frame a certificate.

Each set includes three patches made with colorful polyester thread and finished with a merrowed edge. That stitched border is a good detail here: an adulting badge ought to look like a proper badge, even if the accomplishment doesn’t involve wilderness survival.

The iron-on backing means there is a little setup before anyone can wear their accomplishment, and step-by-step instructions are included. I like these for an existing patch-covered jacket or bag, where an everyday achievement can sit alongside more conventional souvenirs. A little recognition for the less scenic business of being a person.
