The Comfy Original Wearable Blanket

The designers started with a men’s 5XL hoodie and then made it bigger. The result is a blanket you wear: a giant sherpa-lined hoodie long and roomy enough to pull your legs up inside while your hands stay free for snacks, a phone or a controller.

The Comfy was invented by two brothers and got its start on Shark Tank with backing from Barbara Corcoran. The Original has a smooth Velveluxe microfiber outside and a thick CloudSherpa lining, plus a hood, one huge front pocket and ribbed cuffs that keep the sleeves from sliding down while you move around. It weighs about 2 pounds, it’s one size fits most adults, and it goes in the washing machine.

In a white elephant swap this is the kind of gift that gets stolen, because almost any adult or teenager can use one, and it’s hard not to try it on right there. It also suits the person who keeps the thermostat low, the couch napper and anyone who works from a cold home office.

The catch: it costs more than most swap caps allow, so save it for an exchange with a higher limit or bring it as the one splurge. It’s also enormous, so expect to look like a cozy tent rather than anything you’d wear out of the house.
