Two squishy foam burritos sit in the middle of the table during an ordinary card game, and the moment someone plays a burrito card, people are allowed to throw them. Throw Throw Burrito comes from the team behind Exploding Kittens, with art by The Oatmeal, and it mixes a quick race to collect three of a kind with what amounts to indoor dodgeball.
The box holds 120 cards, the two foam burritos, six Burrito Bruise tokens and a Fear Me Badge for the winner. Some cards start a duel between two players, others set off a Burrito War where the whole table joins in. Getting hit costs points, so ducking matters as much as matching.
It plays with two to six people and is rated for ages seven and up, so a teen, a younger cousin and a parent can all sit in on the same round. It suits a kid who gets restless during games that are all sitting and thinking, and a family that laughs hardest when things get a little loud. Exploding Kittens suggests it for camping trips and travel, too.
The catch: you need room to throw. Move drinks, lamps and anything breakable away from the table before the first Burrito War, because nobody aims carefully once points are on the line.
