The Lock N’ Load Gun Alarm Clock gives your morning alarm a target. In normal mode, one successful shot stops the noise; hard mode asks for five. That makes it a fun bedside gag for the person who treats getting out of bed like an unreasonable demand. You can also press the M button to stop either mode, so this isn’t an inescapable test of your half-asleep aim.

You can record a favorite song or your own audio clip as the alarm sound. A politely worded reminder to get up seems sensible. A recording of yourself negotiating for another ten minutes seems more on theme. The clock also has a large-font LED display and two separate target-shooting game modes for play outside wake-up time.

As a novelty gift it has an actual daily job, though it’s not a serious solution to oversleeping. Batteries aren’t included, so it needs a little preparation before its first morning shift.
