Creature Cups Hidden Frog Mug

From the outside it’s a plain blue ceramic mug. Then the coffee level drops and a little white ceramic frog appears at the bottom, sitting in the last of the coffee like it has been waiting there all morning. Creature Cups makes mugs with a hidden 3D animal inside, and this one hides a frog.

It holds 11 ounces and measures about 3.2 inches tall and 4 inches wide, with a round shape and a comfortable handle. It’s made from high-fire ceramic with a smooth finish that’s built to resist chipping, and it’s microwave and dishwasher safe, so the surprise doesn’t come with fussy care rules. It arrives boxed, which saves a step with the wrapping paper.

Give it to the coworker whose desk is already a museum of odd mugs, to a frog fan, or to the friend who drinks tea all afternoon and would enjoy a little company at the bottom of the cup. It’s most fun as a gift you get to watch someone use for the first time, before anyone tells them what’s in there.

The catch: 11 ounces is an ordinary cup size, so anyone used to a giant mug will be refilling more often. And once they know the frog is down there, the surprise is mostly for guests.
