A “shot” of eggs is the kind of breakfast joke that might earn a dad laugh before anyone has had coffee. The Gun Egg Fryer gives that joke a stainless steel outline: set the gun-shaped mold in a frying pan and use it to give an egg a less conventional silhouette. Subtle kitchen decor it is not.
The useful detail is the handle, which gives you a place to grip when removing the mold from the pan. That makes more sense than a novelty cutter with nothing to grab. Still, this is a shaping tool, not a separate cooking appliance. You’re supplying the pan and doing the frying, all to put a visual punch line on a plate. If funny-shaped eggs don’t get a laugh at your table, there’s little reason to add this to the utensil drawer.
It also doubles as a cookie cutter, so the gag can make an appearance outside breakfast. I’d keep it in mind for a dad or brother whose gifts usually involve a terrible pun. The extra use helps, but the joke needs to land first.
