Logitech G305 Lightspeed Wireless Gaming Mouse

One AA battery runs this wireless gaming mouse for about 250 hours of continuous play, and a light warns you before it runs out. That’s the trick behind the Logitech G305 Lightspeed: Logitech’s HERO sensor is built to be up to 10 times more power efficient than other gaming mice, so the mouse can skip the charging cable and still feel quick.

The numbers hold up for competitive games. The sensor reaches up to 12,000 DPI with 400 IPS precision, and Lightspeed wireless gives a 1 millisecond report rate, which Logitech pitches as competition-level performance. It weighs 99 grams, and it has six programmable buttons plus on-board memory for his settings.

The tiny USB receiver tucks into a slot inside the mouse, and Logitech calls the compact, durable shape a great travel companion, so it can ride along in a backpack. It suits a teen moving from a basic office mouse to his first real gaming mouse, or one who is tired of a cord dragging across the desk.

The catch: it runs on a disposable AA battery instead of a built-in rechargeable one, so keep a spare in the drawer. It’s made for PC and Mac, so it’s no help to a teen who only games on a console.
