ProFISHiency Tiny Spincast Fidget Reel

A fishing rod that extends to just 20 inches is delightfully unserious-looking, but the ProFISHiency Tiny Spincast Fidget Reel has an actual fishing job. Its inline telescopic rod keeps the line running through a compact setup designed to resist tangles. This is small-fish territory: think bluegill and trout, not a heroic offshore battle.

The reel comes pre-spooled with 3lb monofilament line, and its 2.6:1 gear ratio handles light-tackle retrieves. An aluminum handle with dual knobs gives your fingers something to work with, while the silver-and-gold finish adds a little swagger to the tiny package. It has more going on than its novelty name suggests.

Downsized gear like this works as a gift for a beginner or an angler who enjoys it. The telescoping design makes it easy to tuck into a backpack or glove compartment for a pond stop. Keeping your hands busy is a bonus; catching a small fish is the better punchline.
