Voice Recordable Glass Christmas Ornament

A voice coming out of a clear glass bottle is an unexpected detail on a Christmas tree. This ornament records and plays back up to 30 seconds, enough for a child’s Christmas greeting, a short message to a partner, or the family joke that loses something when you write it down.

The bottle has a natural cork and ribbon, with custom engraved text to name the speaker or mark the occasion. At 18 × 7 × 7 cm, it needs more room among the branches than a small glass bauble. It also requires two AAA batteries, which aren’t included, so put those in before handing it over if you want the recipient to hear the message straight away.

For a parent or grandparent, the recording gives this keepsake something an engraved date alone can’t capture: the way a familiar person speaks. Choose a few words that belong to the relationship rather than trying to fill the recording time. An ordinary greeting in a child’s own cadence has more reason to be replayed than a carefully rehearsed Christmas speech.
