Star Wars The Black Series Ahsoka Tano Force FX Elite Lightsaber

This Ahsoka Tano lightsaber has a wall-cutting effect, plus blaster deflects, a clash effect, a duel effect, progressive ignition and a full battle sequence mode, all run from a switch and a button on the hilt. Hasbro pairs those sounds with advanced LEDs in a white blade, the color Ahsoka carries in the Star Wars: Ahsoka series.

It’s part of The Black Series, Hasbro’s line of roleplay pieces for collectors, and the design, deco and scale are based on Ahsoka’s sabers from the show. The included stand displays it with or without the removable blade, and a barrel plug closes up the hilt when the blade is off, so it looks finished either way. Power comes from a built-in rechargeable battery, so there’s no hunting for batteries before a demo.

Give it to the Ahsoka fan who followed her from The Clone Wars to her own series, or the adult collector who wants a saber that looks right on the shelf and still lights up for guests. It’s rated for ages 14 and up, and it’s the splurge of this bunch.

The catch: the rechargeable battery can’t be replaced, so the electronics last only as long as that battery does, and that’s a lot to pay for something that spends most of its life on a stand.
