Waterborne Surf Adapter

The unusual bit sits between the deck and the front truck. Waterborne’s Surf Adapter mounts there to let an existing skateboard carve and pump with a more surf-like motion. Waterborne claims three times tighter turns than a standard skate truck. That makes this an interesting upgrade if your usual ride is more about linking turns than getting somewhere in a straight line.

You’re keeping your board and trucks, but this does require installation. The kit includes high-tensile bolts, two 14mm bamboo riser blocks, and instructions. Waterborne lists compatibility with street boards, cruisers, longboards, and drop-through decks, so you can start with a board you already like rather than buy a complete surfskate.

The aluminum alloy adapter is also designed to flex, adding some suspension between rider and pavement. That’s a thoughtful detail for a component whose whole job is changing how a familiar board moves beneath your feet. It makes the most sense for riders curious about pumping and deep carving who would rather modify their existing setup than add another board to the collection.
