Hummingbird Stained Glass Suncatcher

At 6.5 inches high and 4.1 inches wide, this hummingbird belongs in a small patch of window. It’s a useful scale for a bird lover with a crowded windowsill: the decoration hangs in the window without taking up space beside the plants. In a large picture window, it will read as a small accent.

GlassArtStories makes it by hand using the Tiffany copper foil technique. Individual glass pieces are edged in copper foil and soldered together, making the seams part of the finished design. There’s something to examine beyond the bird’s outline, particularly for a recipient interested in how handmade objects are assembled. The craft is as much a reason to choose it as the hummingbird motif.

Gift-ready protective packaging is included, a practical detail for a present made of glass. It suits a mom who notices birds outside her window and would enjoy a permanent little resident, with no feeder to refill.
