There is a specific satisfaction in a knife that lands point-first in a target with a solid thunk, and Cold Steel built the True Flight Thrower to do that over and over. It’s 12 inches long with a 6.5-inch spear-point blade cut from 3/16-inch-thick 1050 carbon steel. Cold Steel heat-treats it to be hard but resilient, so it bounces back from a bad throw instead of bending or snapping the way thin, cheap throwers do.
The handle is wrapped in five feet of paracord for grip, and a dark oxide finish protects the blade from rust and glare. It weighs 8.5 ounces and comes with a Cordura sheath. The edge is a utility edge: sharp enough to be useful, but not so keen that the blade-hold throwing style becomes risky, with care.
It’s the gift for the person who already has a backyard target, or who has been looking for an excuse to build one.
The catch: you’re buying one knife, and practice goes faster with a set of three. Throwing also needs a proper target and a clear area behind it, so plan an afternoon of setup before the fun starts.
