Harry Potter Sorting Hat Ornament

The Harry Potter Sorting Hat ornament has a better party trick than simply looking wizardly on a branch. Press its button and the hat moves and speaks lines about the Hogwarts houses. That little bit of theatre is the reason to choose it over a decoration that just hangs there.

This is a Hallmark Keepsake ornament made from plastic, with the hat doing the talking rather than leaving you to explain the reference. It suits the Potter fan who treats decorating the Christmas tree as an excuse to revisit Hogwarts. Expect house-related dialogue, not an actual verdict on your tree’s bravery or your relatives’ suspiciously Slytherin tendencies.

You do need three AAA batteries, and they aren’t included. Add those if you’re giving it as a gift so the button has something to show off straight away. The included gift box also gives the hat somewhere to retire between appearances.
