Kymera Magic Wand Remote Control

Picture flicking your wrist and watching the television switch channels. That is the whole pitch of the Kymera Magic Wand Remote Control, and for anyone who still half expects a letter with green ink on the envelope, it is a direct route to the fantasy. Your gestures do the work that buttons usually do.

Setup asks for some patience. The wand learns up to 13 infrared codes from your existing remotes, so you teach it each function one at a time. Once those are stored, the gestures are what you have to memorize, and expect the first evening to be mostly practice in front of the couch. Thirteen commands will not replace a full remote with a dozen menus, so the regular remote stays in the drawer for anything the wand doesn’t cover.

As a holiday gift for an adult who never got over Hogwarts, it has a good shape. The velour-lined box with a lift-off lid makes it feel worth unwrapping slowly, and the wand arrives presented rather than tossed in a bag. It suits the fan who will enjoy the performance more than the precision.
