Monopoly Nintendo

Monopoly Nintendo gives the familiar board game a Nintendo wardrobe, right down to six collectible Nintendo-themed tokens. The character lineup reaches beyond Mario to include Donkey Kong, Zelda, Metroid, Kirby, Star Fox, Animal Crossing and Wario. That makes this a fun gift for the Nintendo fan whose loyalties extend past the Mushroom Kingdom. Choosing a token is a small part of Monopoly, but here it gets a little more attention before the property arguments begin.

The useful detail is the 60-minute speed play option, which gives game night a shorter route alongside traditional Monopoly play. This still suits someone who actually enjoys Monopoly, not just someone who recognizes Kirby. If you’re hoping Nintendo brings a different kind of game to the table, the traditional gameplay is your warning. For a fan who likes the familiar format, though, the crossover is the appeal.
