The Space Bar is a combination monitor stand and USB hub that is designed to solve two of the most common problems for computer users: a cluttered desk and not enough USB ports. The stand is open-bottomed and raised 3 inches off the tabletop by its rounded side edges. This creates a small area of shelf space where the keyboard and mouse can be stored when not in use. An added bonus is that this slight increase in height can make using a computer more comfortable by bringing the monitor up to eye level and reducing strain to the neck.
The stands also features a total of 6 USB 2.0 ports, one of which is a USB Mini which is a quite unusual and hard to find feature on USB hubs. The 4 USB ports on the front are for data transmission, and the 2 at the back are charging and transmission ports which let you keep your devices under the monitor and out-of-the-way while they recharge.
In terms of construction and design, the Space Bar matches its functionality with a fun aesthetic. It's made of a sturdy brushed aluminum frame that's built to support up to a 30 pound monitor. The curved and minimalistic design is very reminiscent of an Apple iMac or Mac Mini and is available in either white, black, or silver with white accents. The front USBs are illuminated by LED lights and the total surface size of the stand is 24 x 7 x 3.2” so it should be small enough to fit on most desks.
